When I say to a parent, "read to a child," I don't want it to sound like medicine. I want it to sound like chocolate. —Mem Fox
Reading becomes a favorite treat as we explore early literacy through stories, songs, and a simple craft. This free program for children ages 3 to 5 is designed to provide kids a foundation for kindergarten, including helping them to develop important socialization skills. We strive to create fun and rich experiences that build a love of books, libraries, and learning that will stay with children for a lifetime.

SPLAT!
Join us to create a masterpiece by throwing eggs filled with paint and glitter at canvas. Customize your art by aiming your throws or adjusting your speed to create abstract paint splatters for a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Thinking outside the box has never made art so eggciting!
DID YOU KNOW...?
Our Eggstract Art event is inspired by cascarones. Pronounced kas-ka-ron-ez, cascarones are a Mexican tradition used for Easter, Cinco de Mayo, and other celebrations. Hollowed-out egg shells are filled with confetti or toys and are often cracked over someone's head as a fun surprise.
Since we're using paint, please only break your eggs on the canvas!

Psst... This event will take place during BCPS Spring Break. This eggcellent art could get messy, so dress appropriately!
Hang out and make something uniquely awesome two Thursdays each month!
