A (not quite) total eclipse of the sun...
Are you ready for the coolest astronomical event of the year? An annular solar eclipse, also known as a "ring of fire" eclipse, will be crossing the Americas on October 14th, and we'll have a partial view right here! Leading up to that event—and the much-anticipated total eclipse happening in April 2024—we're excited to welcome the Louisville Astronomical Society for an introduction to all things ECLIPSE!
Join other eclipse enthusiasts to learn about the science behind an eclipse event, then join us after the presentation from approximately 12:30–1:00 PM as we behold the real-life phenomenon on the library lawn. A pair of solar shades will be provided to each registered participant attending the event.
For all ages.
Registration is required for a select number of reserved seats. Additional seating and supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? Call LaDonna at 543-7675 ext. 2552 or e-mail ladonna@bcplib.org.
**Updated 10/11/23: Due to high demand (and some extra solar shades!), we have increased the event capacity from 100 to 125.
