Event Details
**PLEASE NOTE: This series has been postponed until further notice due to low participation. We hope to resume this series at a later time, but in the meantime Ms. Jillian will be investigating other opportunities to help Lebanon Junction preschoolers develop the skills they need for kindergarten. If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten in the upcoming school year, please share your thoughts and requests for kindergarten readiness programming with Ms. Jillian or a manager at Lebanon Junction Branch Library.**
Learning is an adventure...
Gather around the "campfire" and get ready for kindergarten! Each session of Kinder Camp will focus on one of the five core foundations of school readiness to help your littles prepare for the day-to-day of attending school. Children will practice self-help strategies, self-advocating, motor skills, interactive play skills, communication, following direction, and conflict resolution through sensory activities and tons of dramatic play. From kindergarten basics to mock scenarios like taking a school bus or lunch in the cafeteria, this monthly series will build skills and confidence so kids (and parents) will be ready when their first school year begins.
5 Essential Domains of School Readiness:
-
Language and Literacy
-
Cognitive Ability & General Knowledge
-
Approaches to Learning
-
Physical Well Being & Movement
-
Social & Emotional Development
Psst... Each session will involve parent/guardian engagement. Participation at all 10 monthly sessions from September–July is highly recommended.
For the incoming kindergarteners of the 2023–2024 school year.
Registration is required for a select number of reserved seats. Additional seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? Call Ms. Jillian at 543-7675 ext. 2557 or e-mail jillian@bcplib.org.
