It's the year of the rabbit...

Explore the traditions of the Lunar New Year, a celebration that marks the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year! You'll learn all about the legend of the lion dance and this traditional dance from Chinese culture and other Asian countries believed to bring good luck and fortune. River Lotus Lion Dance Company will perform an authentic lion dance, followed by an interactive workshop to give participants a chance to practice with the dancers and learn more about the instruments used during the dance.

For your convenience and to manage crowd control for the workshop portion, two sessions will be offered. Plus, stick around after each presentation to enjoy craft activities and refreshments!

  • 1:00–2:00 PM  Presentation #1
  • 2:00–2:30 PM  Join us during intermission for crafts & refreshments!
  • 2:30–3:30 PM  Presentation #2
  • 3:30–4:00 PM  Join us after the program for crafts & refreshments!
