It's the year of the dragon..

Explore the traditions of the Lunar New Year, a celebration that marks the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year! You'll learn all about the legend of the lion dance and this tradition believed to bring good luck and fortune. River Lotus Lion Dance Company will perform an authentic lion dance, followed by an interactive workshop to give participants a chance to practice with the dancers and learn more about the martial-arts elements and instruments used during the dance.   

Please note: The Lion Dance performance includes drumming, cymbals, and other sounds that may be too loud or sudden for some viewers. We encourage those who may be sensitive to this to take appropriate measures, such as protective headphones, to best enjoy this portion of the event.
