Event Details

Ink. Water. Motion. Magic. 🫟🌊✨

Discover the mesmerizing art of Suminagashi, a traditional Japanese ink-marbling technique whose name translates to “floating ink.” You’ll drip ink onto water, gently guide it into swirling patterns, and transfer the design onto paper—capturing a one-of-a-kind print every time. This hand-on workshop is all about experimenting with movement, chance, and creativity as you make bold, abstract designs of your own.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • 🎨 Hands-on ink painting inspired by Japanese art traditions
  • 🌊 Swirling, organic designs—no two prints alike
  • 🧠 Creative exploration with cultural context
  • 🖐️ A little messiness (ink happens!)

For ages 13–19. Just drop in!
Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions? Call Nikki at 543-7675 ext. 2557 or e-mail nikki@bcplib.org.
