Come together for another epic SummerQuest Kickoff Festival brimming with fun activities and friends from the community. Play games, win prizes, visit hands-on STEM activity stations, and pet our furry animal friends from Honey Hill Farm. Plus, sign up for Cultural Passes, get your face painted, and more. Kiddos can even claim a free book from the Dream Bus!

  • Adventure Stations | Meeting Room 1
    Get a preview of the summer fun to come! From campfire stories and a fishing challenge with our Mt. Washington crew to fairytale fun with our Lebanon Junction team, you can expect a wide variety of games, prizes, and activities to explore. (Bzzzz... Billy's Bees will also be on board for some fun with our resident Nichols beekeepers!)
     
  • Bubble Bug | Front Parking Lot
    Have a blast with giant bubbles!
     
  • Coloring Station | Conference Room 3
    Need an adventure break? Take a moment to unwind and get creative with coloring sheets, crayons, markers, and other kid-friendly art supplies.
     
  • Community Partner Stations | Meeting Room 2
    Enjoy activities and giveaways with Bullitt County 4H, Bullitt County Extension Office, Bullitt County Tourism, Louisville Water Company, and more. Plus, meet Smokey the Bear and enjoy a storytime with the Kentucky Division of Forestry. You can also learn more about the Friends of the Bullitt County Public Library.
     
  • Dream Express Book Bus | Front Parking Lot
    Get ready for a literary adventure! Explore the most magical bus around, plus kiddos will receive a free book while supplies last.
     
  • Face Painting | Children's PlaySpace
    Get your face painted for free!
     
  • Giant Chess with Bullitt County Chess League | Library of Things Area
    Play big! Challenge Brandon to a match, play a friend, or enjoy a quick lesson.
     
  • Petting Zoo | Back Lawn
    Meet our friends from Honey Hill Farm! Pet an alpaca, goats, rabbits, sheep, miniature cow, and more. A miniature horse or donkey is expected to make an appearance, too! Plus, enjoy the antics of chickens and ducks straight from the farm.
     
  • STEM Stations | Conference Room 2
    Get hands-on with a variety of science, technology, and engineering activities. We challenge you to construct something amazing together! We'll have LEGOs, Brain Flakes, a train set, and more.
     
  • StoryWalk® | Start at the front of the building!
    Our StoryWalk® at Central Library is always open. But Kickoff day is great time to follow our latest story and see where your adventure takes you! (You might even meet some animal friends along your journey.)
