Advocate, share, volunteer... FRIEND your library!

We have recently formed a Friends of the Bullitt County Public Library group, and we invite interested individuals from across the county to join our efforts.

Friends of the Library groups are a worldwide effort to promote, support, and enhance the efforts of public libraries to increase usage and, ultimately, enrich lives in their communities. Friends members can make an important contribution to the Library and to their communities through a variety of activities, including:

  • Promoting literacy through Friends-sponsored activities and events designed to instill lifelong learning.
  • Serving as a library advocate in the community.
  • Fundraising to support special projects, services, equipment, or other resources in excess of the general budget.
  • Volunteering to support library programming and community outreach efforts.
  • Supporting library staff development.

For more information, contact Bullitt County Public Library Director Tara O'Hagan at 502-543-7675 ext. 8 or e-mail tohagan@bcplib.org.

The page is still new, but for the latest on current projects, you can also follow the Friends of the Bullitt County Public Library page on Facebook.
