Start the year off on a healthy note...

Join BCPL and the American Heart Association on the 4th Tuesday of the month for four healthy lifestyle classes designed to create a healthier you all year long. Each class will explore a different topic—including healthy eating, fitness, sleep, and fighting stress—to help you make important connections and find the tools and information you need to improve your overall health regimen.

CLASS SCHEDULE

  • January 23rd - Life's Essential 8
    Explore the key components of cardiovascular health: eating a healthy diet, physical activity, nicotine avoidance, getting enough sleep, maintaining a healthy weight, and sustaining healthy levels of blood lipids, blood glucose, and blood pressure. The discussion will provide an overview of weight loss, cholesterol, diabetes, and more. Questions welcome!
     
  • February 27th - Blood Pressure 101
    We're getting serious about blood pressure for American Heart Month! Understand how high blood pressure affects your overall health, learn what those readings really mean, and get tips for monitoring your blood pressure at home.

     
  • March 26th - Nutrition
    Get tips and strategies for weight loss and eating smart, including how to spot heart-healthy choices at the grocery store or dining out. Plus, learn new cooking skills and recipes to make eating healthy easier and less boring than you think.
     
  • April 23rd - Stress Impacts on Health
    Learn to fight stress with healthy habits. Topics will include stress management, mental health and well-being, sleep factors, and how to quit tobacco.
