Embrace the strange, the whimsical, and the eerie...

This October, step into a world of spooky fun and adventure inspired by the dark, quirky magic of filmmaker Tim Burton. Each week features a new activity, from a special screening of a comedy-horror classic to fantastical crafts and a trick-or-treat adventure.

Weekly activities include:

  • πŸͺ¦ October 3rd – Seasonal Movie Screening
    It's showtime! Kick off the month with a screening of a 1980s cult favorite (Beetlejuice, runtime 93 minutes), where the laughs are just as plentiful as the scares. Themed snacks will be provided. Parental discretion is advised for younger children, as the movie’s PG rating predates the creation of PG-13.
  • πŸŽƒ October 10th – Pumpkin Painting
    Embrace the seasonal art of pumpkin painting! For an extra challenge, try to capture the eerie vibe of Sleepy Hollow!
  • πŸ–€ October 17th – Ghoulish Glass Crafts
    Kids will create faux stained glass windows, inspired by the one Wednesday and Enid have in their dorm room from the hit show Wednesday. Meanwhile, adults can decorate glass tumblers with movie-themed stickers to bring a bit of eerie charm to their kitchen collection!
  • πŸ’€ October 24th – A Nightmare Before Christmas Crafts
    Bring the magic of Halloween Town to life with foam masks inspired by Lock, Shock, and Barrel. While the kids are getting crafty, adults can design a custom spell jar inspired by Sally’s ingredient jars. complete with fairy lights for some extra magic.
  • 🍬 October 31st β€“ Trick-or-Treat Adventure
    Wrap up the spooky season with a library-wide trick-or-treat! Follow a path of eerie delights, meet quirky characters, and collect candy along the way. Snap photos in our whimsical Halloween wonderland to complete your spooky journey!
